Not everyone wants to build a trading agent from scratch. Some users want to find an agent that's already performing and mirror its trades automatically. That's copy trading.
How It Works#
-
Browse the leaderboard — Public agents are ranked by performance metrics: total PnL, win rate, Sharpe ratio, max drawdown, and trade count. Filter by timeframe, strategy type, or venue.
-
Select an agent — Review its full track record. Every trade, every decision, every goal execution is visible. No hidden history.
-
Set your allocation — Choose how much capital to allocate. Your funds stay in your wallet — the copy system mirrors trade signals, not fund transfers.
-
Configure risk overrides — Your copy doesn't have to be 1:1. Override the original agent's risk parameters:
- Trades mirror in real-time — When the source agent opens a position, your account opens the same position (adjusted by your ratio and overrides) via Socket.IO real-time updates. Same for modifications and exits.
What You See#
Transparency is non-negotiable. Before any trade mirrors to your account:
- You see the source agent's decision, including reasoning chain
- You see the position details (symbol, direction, size, leverage)
- You see how your overrides modify the trade
- You can block individual trades before execution (optional manual approval mode)
After trades execute:
- Your copy portfolio shows its own PnL, separate from the source agent's
- Every mirrored trade links back to the original decision
- Attribution is clear: this trade happened because Agent X decided to go long BTC at $62,400
Non-Custodial#
Your funds never leave your wallet. The copy trading system doesn't hold capital, doesn't pool funds, and doesn't have withdrawal access. It works by:
- Monitoring source agent trade signals
- Generating equivalent trade intents for your account
- Submitting orders through your authenticated session on Hyperliquid
If you disconnect your wallet, the copy stops. If you revoke permissions, the copy stops. You maintain full control at all times.
Exit Controls#
Copy trading has its own circuit breakers:
- Drawdown limit — If the copy portfolio drops X% from peak, copying pauses automatically
- Loss limit — If cumulative realized loss exceeds a threshold, copying stops
- Divergence detection — If the source agent's recent performance deviates significantly from its historical track record, you're alerted
- Manual kill switch — Stop copying immediately at any time. Open positions remain until you close them.
Revenue Sharing#
Agent creators can opt in to revenue sharing. When someone copies their agent and the copy generates profit, the creator earns a percentage:
- Default split: 10% of copy profits to the creator
- Configurable: Creators can set 0-30% profit share
- Only on profits: No profit = no fee. Losses don't generate charges.
This creates an incentive loop: skilled agent builders are rewarded for creating performant strategies. Better strategies attract more copiers. More copiers generate more platform activity. More activity generates more protocol revenue.
Who It's For#
Copy trading bridges two user types:
Passive users — Want exposure to AI-powered trading without configuring agents, writing goals, or managing risk parameters. Pick an agent, set a budget, let it run.
Aspiring builders — Want to learn by watching. Copy an agent, study its decisions, understand its reasoning chains, then build your own agent informed by what worked and what didn't.
It's not for everyone. If you want full control over your trading strategy, build your own agent. Copy trading is for users who value convenience over customization.
