Deploy
How much to allocate to AI trading depends on your financial situation, risk tolerance, and experience level.
| Category | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Emergency Fund | Never allocate emergency savings to trading. Keep 3-6 months expenses in stable assets. |
| Core Holdings | Long-term investments (retirement, major purchases) should remain separate. |
| Risk Capital | AI trading allocation should come from funds you can afford to lose entirely. |
| Learning Budget | Start with amount you'd spend on education. Learning the system has value. |
Suggested Starting Amounts
| Profile | Starting Capital | Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| Experimenter | $100-300 | Learning the interface. Expect to make mistakes. |
| Cautious Beginner | $500-1,000 | Enough to test strategies meaningfully. |
| Serious Trader | $2,000-5,000 | Sufficient for diversified agent strategies. |
| Experienced | $10,000+ | Multi-agent portfolio with proper position sizing. |
Within your allocated capital, manage risk per trade.
Risk 1-2% per trade. If you can't survive 10 losses in a row, your position size is too large.
Conservative Approach (Recommended for Beginners)
- Risk per trade: 1-2% of trading capital
- Maximum concurrent positions: 2-3
- Total portfolio at risk: Never more than 10% at once
- Risk per trade: $10-20 (1-2%)
- Max position size: $100-200 with 5x leverage = $500-1000 exposure
- Concurrent positions: 2 maximum
- Daily loss limit: $50 (5%) triggers trading halt
New users often make predictable errors. Awareness helps avoid them.
High Leverage First
- Using 10x+ leverage immediately
- 10% adverse move = 100% loss
- Liquidation happens fast
- No room for error
Start Conservative
- Begin with 2-3x maximum
- Room to survive drawdowns
- Learn market dynamics first
- Scale up after proven results
No Stop-Losses
- Hoping losing positions recover
- No defined exit points
- Small losses become catastrophic
- Emotional decision-making
Always Define Exits
- Set stop-loss before every trade
- Configure agent to require them
- Accept small losses as cost of trading
- Systematic risk management
Increase capital only after demonstrating consistent results.
